The impact is being felt in all sorts of ways and I thought I’d share our story about “How Sugar Cream Vintage Is Surviving the Pandemic?!”.
Some of you might know that we needed to close our shop at Terminal21 in Bangkok for many months, due to the 2nd, 3rd and 4th waves of covid-19 cases in Thailand.
Throughout that time we were brain storming about what we could do to make Sugar Cream Vintage survive in such a terrible crisis. We kept asking ourselves how how, how??
We have worked so hard for over 10 years to build the business with sweat and tears - we don’t want it to end. Since we opened our 1st store in Lido Theatre, we have met so many likeminded customers, many who have become friends. Having built this community, we knew we had to find a way to carry on!
So we turned our ship and headed to the other ocean and took the business ONLINE.
We had zero knowledge about it, but realised that it was the only light at the end of the tunnel for us. We soon realised it was so much more than just building a website.
We had to think deeply about what more we can do to make customers feel as happy about shopping with us online as they would in our store.
There were also so many processes at the back of the house to make sure the online experience was smooth. It's not been easy, but we're thirsty to learn and enjoy doing it because we love what we do and we do what we love.
It’s been an amazing experience to fight for what we are so passionate about and then see the response from Vintage lovers all over the world – since going online we have sent out of over almost 600 unique, beautiful pieces, to many countries.
Even though the store will re-open on the 1st October, we will continue online too.
We want keep learning new things every day - to gain a deeper understanding of the Vintage world and what makes our customers happy, online at sugrarcreamvintage.com or in store at Terminal21.
We also hope that when international travel re-opens, our new customers from around the world might come and visit us, if you ever come to Thailand.
We are re-opening the Terminal21 store on the 1st October. For those of you already in Thailand, I (Tarn) will be in the shop to assist you myself and my staff and I are both fully vaccinated.
For any of you who plan to come and want to book in private shopping with me, please feel free to email me at sugarcreamvintage@gmail.com
One last thing, I just want to let you know that I have prepared a special collection of so many nice products for the shop, which I’m sure you will love, and I’ll be there to help you find that special piece that’s perfect for you!
Looking forward to seeing you guys on the 1st Oct!
Sugar Cream Vintage Clothing, Shop No. 1095 1st Floor- Tokyo , Terminal21 BKK.
See you there!❤️

It is the details added to what you are wearing that can make the same dress go from office wear to party wear, from a sunny picnic dress to a candle light dinner one, and so on.
It is easy to imagine that a combo of, say, a white blouse and a pair of black trousers could be styled into almost anything, or that in order for a dress to change it’s look completely it would have to be rather neutral. But you can pretty much change the look of almost any garment, regardless of it’s pattern or style and how distinguished you may have thought the item to be, to suit different occasions and to create different moods.
Think top and bottom - what you wear on your feet and what you wear on your head; how you style your hair, make up a big part of your over all style. Often just changing or adding two things can be enough, to create a new look with the same dress.
Lipstick can feel like such a small detail but it can be that one thing that makes turns the switch from day to evening ready. Change from boots to heels and fancy fancy up your hair and you are wearing a completely different dress already.
Or put on some head gear and shoes in a colour that pops for a completely different feel.
A cardigan and Mary Janes with a striped dress for a cute day-to-day look turns more edgy with a black beret and black boots.
Do you love to play around with styles and details? What are your favourite tricks when it comes to accessorising, and what are your favourite accessories?

I have found that the reason for me often may be with the sleeves; they might be in a length that is not practical for my needs or then just do not fit me well.
As clothes are not only meant to be admired on a rack in your wardrobe but rather meant to be worn and look good on you, a little alteration may come in handy - one of my favourite tricks when modifying dresses is to alter the sleeves and,
as a bonus, turn the cut-off fabric into something else for the dress instead!
Quite often we don’t know how to start. More importantly, many of us might feel that we have to sacrifice some style to become more sustainable - that’s not always the case!
We found that it’s actually quite easy to start adopting a more sustainable way of life while still looking fab! Here are a few tips:
1. Of course, Go Vintage!
Some fabrics age better than others and generally “Fast Fashion” brands use lower quality materials which don’t last long and end up in landfill quicker. Reducing how much you buy and of course buying vintage or secondhand is one of the easiest ways to shop sustainably. Luckily most vintage clothes were made in a time where quality, strength, and duration was still the norm.
2. Use tote bag instead of plastic bag
Remembering to bring a tote bag before leaving the house to avoid using plastic bag from shops is a quick win in terms of reducing your plastic consumption. A bag is definitely an important item that can complete a look and there a lots of options out there which can be both practical and stylish. Having a few options of different shapes, sizes and styles is a way you can be stylish and reduce plastic waste at the same time.
3. Wear washable fabric mask
Disposable masks are causing massive plastic waste, so washable fabric masks are a more sustainable choice. Due to the pandemic, there are now lots of different types of masks to choose from. Remember to choose one with good quality material that will last. If you are looking for one, we also have an organic face mask made from water hyacinth and breathable cotton that will fit with most outfits. Get one here http://etsy.me/3bqiFkX
4. Try reusable cotton pads
Disposable cotton pads and makeup wipes are significant contributors to landfill waste - reusable pads can be a good solution to this. They are usually made from microfiber fabric which is very easy to clean (even waterproof mascara!), they are very durable and can last for months or years. They are a good way to save money, as buying a reusable wipes work out much cheaper in the long run.
We can all just start living more sustainably little by little, one step at a time. The key is to find the right balance for yourself. And lastly, don’t forget we can also be stylish and sustainable at the same time!
